Problem replacing water filter on GE refrigerator

In the process of replacing my water filter on my GE refrigerator I was having extreme trouble getting filter to go into place.  After many attempts to fit the new filter in place, I discovered the old o-ring was still in the receptacle.  Simple fix, be sure the old o-ring is gone before replacing filter with new o-ring.
